Do Ebay/Amazon makeup brushes really work?!

Do you have to spend £20 per makeup brush to get good quality?


Personally, I say no you don't! I'm sure in most cases you get what you pay for and if you spend £1 on a makeup brush compared to £20 on a makeup brush the more expensive one would usually be better quality, but if you don't have the budget for that (like me) then there are so many great cheaper alternatives. Ones that I have discovered that I absolutely love are these brushes from eBay and Amazon.

I think I paid around £5 for this 10 piece makeup brush set, Which is a bargain! I looked an eBay and I found ones identical to the ones I bought.

I use these makeup brushes pretty much everyday and they work perfect, I do have slightly more expensive makeup brushes aswell but I still use these ones pretty much every day, and have had these for probably about a year and a half to 2 years now, and they are still in perfect condition!

So if you don't have the budget for more expensive makeup brushes then I would definitely recommend these, they honestly work amazing!

Ok so yesterday a Superdrug package arrived at my door and I was so excited because I ordered a few bits the day the Zoella sweet inspirations products released because of course I had to! 

I love Zoe and I have products from her other collections and these products looked AMAZING so of course I had to order a few bits!

I watched her video and Alfie's video showing them and I could not wait to get my hands on them! And that time has finally come :)

REVOLUTION eye shadow palette review!

I am back, I have been slightly absent from my blog in the last couple of weeks because I have been having a major lack of inspiration and motivation so I didn't want to force out a post for the sake of it because it would probably be rubbish

But I have had a bit of a revamp of my blog because I wasn't happy with it so I have changed bits around, spot the changes! :)

Top 4 foundations for dry skin!

Hello you lovely bunch!

Today I am going to be writing something that is always so helpful and useful
for me and definitely helped me when I was choosing which foundations to buy.

I suffer with very dry skin so when I wear foundations

it can look very dry, dull flaky and just overall gross!

So it puts me off wearing foundation completely, however I have found a few foundations

that I love and that I think work great for my very dry skin!

So that is what I am doing today!

Spring beauty essentials!

Hello lovelies!!

So today I am going to be showing you some beauty products that are my essentials for spring time!

I use the word Spring alot in this post! ha ha!

So the first beauty product that is my spring essential, is this makeup palette by w7! I have talked about these eyeshadow palettes so many times now, you are probably tired of hearing about them! But I love them. This palette is the "In the nude" palette and it is perfect for spring because it has some really pretty pink tone colours which I wear all the time throughout spring because when I think of spring i think of fresh, pretty pinks, so this palette is perfect to create the everyday spring look! (just realised how many times i said Spring. Spring, Spring, Spring!)

My next Spring essential are these blushes. I couldn't pick one so i just decided to put both in because I like them both and think they are both pretty pink spring blushes! 

The blusher on the left is the "Borjois healthy mix" blusher in the shade 41.

This is a peach tone blusher, they are both very peachy but this one is slightly more orangy with a slight gold undertone. It's not very pigmented though so you have to swirl your brush in it for quite a while to get some colour on it, but it is a very pretty colour!

The blusher on the right is the MUA blusher in the shade lolly. This colour is also quite a peachy blusher however it has a slightly more pink undertone than the other blusher. This blusher is VERY pigmented so you honesty only need to touch it the tiniest a bit and you will get alot on the brush!

Next up is lipsticks! I think Spring is the time to ditch the dark bold lipstick colours (sad face) and start reaching for the more nudes and pinks. I haven't really tried any high end lipsticks before but some of my favourite drugstore lipsticks I have tried are the Rimmel Kate moss ones! I love them! 

The one in the picture above is in the colour 05, its a perfect pink colour for Spring, it is quite a bright pink, which is a bit daring for me but not too bright its just a bit brighter than my normal nude colours. 

I then have a couple of other Rimmel Kate moss lippies that I also love, these are more nude/neutral colours. The one on the left is in the shade 19 which is slightly more pink than the one on the right. The one on the right is in the shade 08, this colour is one that I wear all year round, I absolutely love it!! 08 is more of a nude colour and doesn't really have pink undertones its more of a brown undertone colour. 

I absolutely love these lipsticks and for only £5-6 you cant go wrong!

Next up is more lip products. On the left is the born lippy lip balm by body shop, in the flavour strawberry ( which can I just say smells and tastes delicious, it doesn't last long on my lips because I just lick it off ha ha) I added this into my spring essentials just because I feel lip balm is an essential all year round and this one has such a sweet fruity scent that it is perfect for spring/summer. And when you apply it it makes your lips glossy and gives them a slight pink tint which is so pretty and perfect for a natural everyday spring look!

The product on the right is a lip butter by collection. its in the shade 3 vintage rose. This is such a pretty pinky peach colour, its slightly more sheer than lipsticks but more pigmented than a lip balm and as well as giving you a pretty colour it softens and moisturises your lips at the same time so its perfect really!

The final makeup items that I included were nail varnishes! I think my nail colours go through a huge change from winter to spring, I absolutely love my dark colours, my red, my purples, my blacks, I just love a good dark nail colour, but I don't feel that that is really right for spring so I hide away all of them colours and bring out the more bright pastel colours! These are some of the ones I'm loving! I looove the Barry M nail varnishes so much, they have such a huuge variety of colours to choose from, I've just picked a few that I love for spring!

 The colour on the left is a really pretty pastel blue, it is in the shade 306 blueberry. The colour in the middle is from the gelly hi shine range and this one is a pretty pastel peach colour, i love this colour so much, its in the shade papaya. Then finally the colour on the right is a gorgeous pastel green/turquoise minty colour, this one is in the shade 304 mint green.

All of these shades I love and are all perfect for spring time! I would definitely recommend giving these a try!

 Then I didn't want to just add all Barry M nail varnishes because I also love these ones so much! The colour on the left is a new purchase and its by models own, its such a beautiful pastel lilac colour, its in the shade lilac dream! honestly this colour is so pretty, I'm in love with it.

Then the colour on the right is by MUA these nail varnishes are only £1 and they have some really pretty colours so if you are on a lower budget I would definitely recommend these! This one is in the color strawberry crush, and this is a beautiful pastel pink!

FOTD

Hello again you lovely people!!
I'm going to do a FOTD (face of the day, if you weren't sure what that meant) and show you what I was wearing on my face in the pictures below, I wore this makeup while filming my "Whats in my travel makeup bag" on YouTube. I went for a neutral smokey eye and a dark berry lip!

Mini body shop haul!

So I was on holiday recently and I went to a shopping centre that has loads of outlet stores (which I had never heard of before, but they are jut normal shops but they sell stuff cheaper than usual) So I thought I would have a look in the body shop, and I bought a few bits, so I am going to show you what I bought :)

I have never bought any makeup or anything from the body shop before I think the only thing I have ever bought from there was like a body moisturiser and maybe a face moisturiser, and because the stuff was alot cheaper than normal I thought I would just grab a few bits.

I'm not quite sure how much each thing cost me because they were discounted and then when you bought 1,2,3 or 4 items they were discounted even more, but altogether I spent £14 which I thought was sooo good!!

So the first thing I picked up was this clear lash and brow gel. I have wanted a clear brow gel for ages but have just never got round to buying one so I thought I would give this one a try. Let me know if you would like a review and I will be happy to do that, but I haven't yet tried this out!

Then I picked up a mascara. My mascara is running low and I have heard some good things about body shop mascaras so I thought I would see for myself and see if I like it. This is the body shop big and curvy mascara in black 01.

I have heard loads of good things about these lip balms and I have wanted to try these for ages! So the first one I picked up was this strawberry one, and I can tell you it smells delicious and I have used it a few times but like I said let me know if you would like a review.

 And then I went to the till to pay and the lady informed me that I could get another one of these lip balms for an extra 10p!! So of course I had to!
So I picked up the watermelon flavour one because I absolutely love the smell of artificial watermelon things so I had to try it. And I can also say that this smells AMAZING!!

And that is everything I picked up from the body shop! I am so excited to try these and use them and was so happy that it was only £14!!

So I was nominated for this award by another blogger called Marie from Mariestateofmind. Thankyou so much for nominating me. I had never even heard of this but it was cool to be nominated anyway :) I dont think I have ever been nominated for anything! It sounds like a good concept and a good way for new/small bloggers to get noticed and find other new bloggers!


So what is the Liebster Award?

So now I am going to answer the questions that Marie asked:



1. Do your family and friends know you blog, if they do, are they supportive?
Yeh my friends and family know that I blog, I dont think my family are that interested though, I think they kind of see it as pointless and a waste of time which is sad because it is my passion and something I love doing and an escape from my anxiety and depression. My best friend has always supported me though! Love you D'nelle if you're reading ♥

2. Why did you start your blog?

I just checked and I just realized that today, or when I am writing this - on the 23rd -  is my blogs 4 month anniversary!! Or it has been 4 months since I uploaded my first blog post :) 

It feels like ive been doing it forever though. I started writing a blog because my anxiety was very bad to the point where I was unable to really leave my house so I had nothing else to do and wanted a sort of escape from the real world and somewhere I can talk about my feelings and my life and things that interest me like beauty and youtube :)

3. What is your favourite movie?

I honestly dont have a favourite movie, but I like anything disney. I love childens films more than adults because im just a big kid at heart ☺

4. Cats or dogs?

Definitely dogs (sorry any cat lovers) I have 2 dogs myself and I love them more than anything. And everytime I see a dog I just want to run up to it and stroke them. I am obsessed. I think it is becoming a problem. Oh and I am allergic to cats so I cant really go near them.

5. What advice would you give your younger self?

I think I would give my younger self a lot of advice if i could. But I think the main thing would be to not worry about what other people think, just to be yourself and love yourself for who you are, because that is something I have always struggled with doing.

Thats a bit serious and deep. I would tell myself that bright blue eyeshadow really does not suit you!!

6. Favourite beauty product?

My favourite beauty product will probably have to be concealer (specifically collection lasting perfection concealer at the minute) I have quite bad under eye circles so I am pretty much always wearing concealer.

7. What is your favourite thing about yourself?

My favourite thing about myself is probably my kindness :) aww so cheesy! It can sometimes be a problem because I care about others more than myself sometimes. But I think majority of the time it is a good thing and I think i have a very kind heart and I couldnt ever be mean to any one, its just not in my nature! I just think that is how everyone should be ♥

8. What is your biggest fear?

My biggest fear is really deep and morbid, but I am so afraid of dying, I know obviously it will happen one day but it just terrifies me and if I think about it for too long I go insane and...

Ok I need to stop talking about this now.

9. What is your favourite way to relax?

I am often finding myself in need of a bit of relaxation. What I enjoy doing is running myself a nice bubble bath, relaxing in the bath for a while then getting out making my self a nice brew, getting into some nice cozy pj's and snuggling up under a blanket watching some YouTube videos!

10. Do you find blogging easy?

I find it quite difficult sometimes to think of a topic that I think people will enjoy and find interesting, but once I have thought of a topic I usually just ramble on for ages and dont stop!

But it isnt too difficult because I just talk about things that interest me so if it interests me then I find it quite easy to talk about, if that makes sense.

11. Tea or Coffee?

And finally, the most important question of them all ☺

Tea or Coffee? I used to be a coffee girl until my anxiety got really bad and I realized that caffeine isnt good for anxiety. So i havnt had caffeine in like a year now! But I usually drink a decaf tea or a hot chocolate :)

w7 eyeshadow palette review

So I mentioned these eyeshadows in my February favourites and possibly my November favourites

I thought I would dedicate a whole post to them because that is how much I love them ♥
And I just thought I would give you a little review, and I wanted to recommend them if anyone is looking for new, cheap, eye-shadows to buy!

I know normally you get what you pay for and if you buy cheap makeup the quality isn't as good as high end makeup. But these eyeshadows are probably the best low end/drugstore/high street eyeshadows I have tried.

How I clean my makeup brushes!

Today I am going to be showing you guys how I clean my makeup brushes. It's really quite simple, I do this probably once every 2 months, I'm not sure if this is enough I probably should be cleaning them more often, but this is just what I do at the moment. 

I didn't wash all of my brushes for this post because they didnt all need washing I just washed the ones that needed a good cleaning ☺

February Faves!

Welcome to my February favorites! I am going to be showing a few things that I have been loving not just in February but also from the last few months, because I dont think I have done one of these since November. This is going to be a long one but i hope you enjoy!

December glossy box and first impressions!

I have been signed up to glossy box since about July, and i absolutely love it! It is only £13.25 a month including delivery, and i am always so excited for the beginning of the month for when my glossy box arrives, its like my birthday every month ☺
You  get 5 products in the glossy box, with a mixture of full size and sample size beauty products. I'm obsessed! I am going to include links of where you can find all the products from the glossy box, and i will also include a link of where you can sign up for glossy box yourself ☺

I have been so excited for Decembers glossy box,because it is a rose gold edition made in collaboration with beauty blogger "Really Ree" 
Rose gold is my absolute favorite thing in the whole entire world, and you also received an extra product in this months box,because it is almost Christmas!!! so i was so excited, i was literally non stop sitting at my door waiting for it to arrive ☺

Isnt this box just GORGEOUS!!! I am obsessed with it this is definetly going to be going pride of place onmy dressing table, i love it so much ♥

November Favourites

It is the end of the month, I cant believe we are already in December, this year has gone by so fast!! December is my favourite month of the whole entire year so i am so excited! I absolutely love Christmas, it is the most wonderful time of the year ☺
Because I love Christmas so much I would really like to do alot of Christmas inspired blog posts, so i would love it if you could leave a comment leaving any suggestions of Christmas related blog posts i could do :)

I love trying new makeup products, it is one of my favorite things to do, there are a few new things that i have discovered this month that I have really been loving. 

Beauty  

The first thing I have discovered that has been a complete life saver is a couple of foundations. I always struggle finding the right foundations for me, because i am very pale and have extremely dry skin, so its very rare to find a foundation that matches my skin and doesn't make me look dry and flaky :/
The first foundation that i have discovered that I have been absolutely loving is the Borjois healthy mix serum. I absolutely love this foundation, i have been wearing it almost every day, i think this is probably one of the best foundations i have tried, it is great for people with dry-very dry skin. The colour matches me perfectly, i would say the coverage is light - medium, it doesn't have as much coverage as i would like however, everything else about it is perfect. It has a nice smell to it, and it also feels light on the skin, so you dont really feel like you are wearing any foundation. I bought this foundation from superdrug and the price was £10.99. So it is on the cheaper side compared to high end foundations like mac, and it is very good quality for the price.

The second foundation i have also been loving this month is Rimmel lasting finish foundation (nude). When im not wearing the Borjois foundation I have been wearing this, this is another foundation that i have discovered that is really good for dry skin, it doesnt enhance my dry, flakyness or make me look dull and patchy. I would say it is a medium coverage, this foundation also is very light and doesnt feel thick and cakey on the skin. This foundation is also a good match for my skin tone, so i would say it is good for people with pale skin. I also bought this foundation from superdrug and it was £7.99. A very good cheap price, considering the quality is so good. Love it!

Introduction to me and my blog!

This is my first ever blog post so I apologize in advance
for not being a pro and not knowing exactly what I am doing,
so bear with me.

 My name is Megan, my middle name is Rose, which is why i have named my blog Megan Rose (So creative). I am 19 years old, I was born on the 19th July 1996. I have 4 brothers and no sisters, I am the only girl in a family of boys :/

I suffer with anxiety and depression, I have suffered with anxiety since I was about 12 or 13, if there is any one reading this that also suffers with some sort of mental illness then hi :) you are not alone xx
